The client, an established graphic designer, sought to enhance their marketing strategy to reflect their growth and creative vision. Their primary focus was on their creative projects, which left limited time and resources to dedicate to a comprehensive marketing overhaul. Operating within the specific parameters of a funded grant added another layer of complexity. The client faced the challenge of balancing the irregular workload with the need to develop a more strategic marketing approach. Synergy Session + Individual Project + Marketing
1. Planning
We initiated the project with a detailed planning session to discuss the overall strategy, set expectations, gather necessary information, and decide on the project's direction. We broke the project into manageable phases, incorporating optional 'extras' based on the project's progress and the client's comfort. Scheduling for regular check-ins and continuous communication kept the client informed and engaged, ensuring a collaborative effort.
2. Onboarding
We obtained all necessary branding information, dedicating time to understanding the client's tone of voice, messaging, services, and purpose. We gathered logos and access to essential files and folders. The project was meticulously planned in our internal project management system, breaking it into actionable steps, setting deadlines, and ensuring seamless communication across teams.
3. Research
We gathered detailed information from the client about their target audience and goals. Utilizing previous outreach efforts and contacts, we created are freshed, branded spreadsheet for future use. Regular communication ensured targets were on track and aligned with the client's expectations. We provided helpful customization tips for assets to align with industry standards.
4. Outreach Prep
We collaborated closely with the client to support the refreshed design of outreach assets, including their portfolio and media kit. We also prepared customized communications for each contact that the client determined was viable from our research (some of these VIPs can be pretty hard to connect with!). The spreadsheet was regularly updated to maintain the client's organization in the future.
Result:
Using the client's preferred applications and software, we effectively supported their strategic research efforts. We obtained hard-to-come-by contact information, ensuring the outreach reached the right people. The client was equipped with comprehensive materials for outreach, including content, copy, supporting assets, and specific contacts. They felt prepared and organized to manage outreach independently. Additionally, we provided insights for maintaining organization during outreach, including email management tips, spreadsheet updates, and calendar management for successful meetings.
